On November 3, the National Body for Standards and Metrology and ISO jointly held an international workshop on “ISO and the Role of Students in Making Lives Easier, Safer and Better.”
On the initiative of the PAARA Centre for Quality Assurance, PAARA staff and students also had a chance to participate in the virtual workshop.
The workshop was held by Mojdeh Tabari, ISO DEVCO Chair.
Mrs Tabari presented the rather complex process of establishment of ISO and the introduction of quality standards.
It was noted that any decision related to standardization and metrology is made as a result of a number of complex stages. However, taking into account all the steps undertaken to develop the spheres of vital importance of humanity, Dr. Mojdeh Tabari advised to raise questions and never give up.
She presented some data on the meetings held in various countries during the past year and the decisions made as a result of those meetings.
She especially referred to the Organization structure, features, and the decision-making procedure.
In this context, Mrs Tabari stressed the essential role of a national standards institute-agency in each country since all the proposals or anticipated changes are first of all discussed with the above agencies of the member states, and the localization issues, the expediency of standard introduction or amendment are revealed.
