Training Courses in Gegharkunik Province of the RA

On November 11, 2022, the next course was held in Gegharkunik Province, “Integration of climate change adaptation into regional and community development strategies” topic, which was funded by the project “National Adaptation Plan to advance medium and long-term adaptation planning in Armenia.’’

It was organized with the help of the Gegharkunik Province administration.   During the workshop, lecturers presented issues related to climate change, risks and vulnerability from climate change in Armenia.

The training modules are based on the methodological recommendations ; “Climate change adaptation planning at the community level” and “Integrating considerations of climate changes adaptation and climate risk management into regional (in marzes) development strategies.”

Gevorg Petrosyan, Vahagn Petrosyan and Zhirayr Ghazaryan are lecturers of the training,  the best specialists in the field of and lecturers of the Academy, the authors of these guidelines.

Gevorg Petrosyan, the chairman of the “Biosophia” (NGO), specialist with many years of experience in program management, conducting courses, expert, conducting monitoring studies with professional knowledge, analytical skills in various areas of agriculture and nature conservation.

Vahagn Petrosyan, lecturer of the Academy is an independent legal expert on local self-government issues. He is an international expert on local self-government and international expert on decentralization of the Council of Europe office in Moldova.

Zhirayr Ghazaryan, an expert on issues of local self-government and community service.

After the training, the participants had an opportunity to evaluate the program, present their suggestions and opinions. At the end, the participants were awarded  certificates.
