On March 30, the PAARA Career Center hosted Global Media Lab team – the first Armenian marketing platform. Representatives of the team perform “University Tour” project in ten universities. The students are greatly interested in it because it gives a wide range of opportunities that foster career growth. During the meeting the speakers introduced substantial and interesting material on searching for job, gaining professional skills, creation of personal brand in the labour market and management of a person. The participants were given opportunity to replenish their libraries and video-material with new books and films that will foster their personal development.
While explaining the issues “There is no job”, “Why haven’t we got job”, “Modern CV”, Teresa Grigoryan – Global Media Lab manager of communication – thoroughly touched upon the reasons why one cannot find job. She also introduced various forms to write a CV. It is a very important issue that is uncommon in the Armenian labour market. It will also foster the creative thinking of a person and will help to develop the culture of introducing own characteristic peculiarities in interviews. Teresa Grigoryan advised the participants to be courageous and not to lose heart.
Founder of skill.am Sergey Usunts introduced ten essential skills which are needed for “being permanently required”. As an employer, the trainer underlined the gift to work in team, culture to negotiate and skills in problem solving. Sergey Usunts told that self-education and self-improvement will become the future pivotal skills. And his rhetorical question “Are you ready for the meeting with future?” became a reason for serious speculations.
Global Media Lab executive director Seda Vardanyan introduced another modern issue. Her pr5esentation on personal brand and marketing were accompanied by various examples and pieces of advice. If the expression “How to sell yourself as a brand” was misunderstood in the past, today most people initiate their own steps to create and properly present personal brand. Knowledge is the only “product” that one can receive and “sell”.
Interactive game followed the informative meeting. All participants took part in it. The winners took awards.
The trainers thanked the Public Administration Academy of RA for warm reception and interactive involvement of the participants. They mentioned the importance of permanent development, self-education, and improvement of personal ego not only for own competitiveness in the labour market, but also in personal achievements and facing challenges.
