On September 9, the Public Administration Academy of RA hosted Mr. Wolfgang Börnsen, Deputy of the Bundestag and member of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany, and Mr. Christoph Breunig, German Deputy Chief of Mission in Armenia.
It is already the fourth time that Mr. Wolfgang Börnsen has been to Armenia and as he confessed he has always met people with good education here.
“My sympathy towards Armenia led to the fact that I was involved in the “black list” of unwelcome people for Azerbaijan”, said Mr. Börnsen during the meeting with the Academy’s students and executives. “Last year I was lucky to be in Artsakh, but the authorities of Azerbaijan did not like it.”
The aim of his regular visit to Armenia is to present the regular phase of the International Parliamentary Scholarship programme implemented by the German Bundestag.
The Bundestag invites the young university graduates interested in politics to take part in the above-mentioned programme for 5 months in Berlin (http://bundestag.de/ips). During approximately 15 weeks the participants will have an opportunity to get familiarized with the German parliamentary system and the traditions established there. The objective of the programme is to foster and fortify the relations between the participant countries and Germany.
It lasts from March 1 to July 31, 2014.
The prerequisites for subscribing the programme are:
By the way Germany is the only country in the Region which implements such a programme. The students of the Public Administration Academy of RA may also gain a scholarship provided they meet the other requisites. During the meeting with the delegation a video on the programme was also shown.
