The cooperation of French-Armenian benefactor Raymond Yezegelyan and the Public Administration Academy of RA started five years ago. Each year about two dozen students of the Academy are awarded one-time scholarships on the initiative of the benefactor. When selecting scholarship holders, several factors are taken into account: academic performance, living in contiguous areas, serving in the armed forces, and so on.
On December 19, at the auditorium renovated with the financial support of the benefactor and named after him, the ceremony of handing over scholarships to twenty nominal scholarship holders for the 2019-2020 academic year took place. Although this time Mr. Yezegelyan did not have the opportunity to arrive in person, his representative, Martun Panosyan, President of the Union of Francophone Lawyers in Armenia, along with the scholarship, conveyed both his and the benefactor’s wishes to the students of the Academy. He expressed his pleasure over being at the Academy once again on this initiative and thanked the Rector of the Academy for effective cooperation.
“We are very pleased that thanks to Mr. Yezegelian’s good will this initiative continues,” the Rector said. “It is also gratifying that our compatriots from diaspora are interested in the improvement of the education sector in our country and support it as much as possible.”
