The general administration of the Academy is run by the public administration institution – the «Staff of the Presidential Administration of RA» (hereafter: authoritative body) – in conformity with the Legislation of the Republic of Armenia and the current Charter, on the basis of self-governance in combination with principle of individual administration and collegiality by the activities of the Council, Scientific Council and the Rector’s office.

The Collegial Administrative Body of the Academy is the Council. Its liabilities last 5 years.

The Council consists of the representatives of professorial staff, studentship, founders and authoritative body of the Academy.

The number of the Council members is 20. The Council board is ascertained by the Chief of Staff of the Office to the President of RA.

The Council elects president from its staff, apart from the members of studentship. The president of the Council cannot be a staff employee of the same institution (a dean, Head of Chair, professor). The President of the Council maintains his/her right to work as a pay-by-the-hour professor.

If the Council fails to act, the Head of the authoritative body is authorized to cease the liabilities of the Council President ahead of time and to liquidate the Council.

The Council sessions are convened once a year. They are considered competent in participation of at least the 2/3 of the members. The decisions of the Council are adopted by mere majority of the Council members, if the Council does not adopt another decision on the case. The special sessions are convened by the proposal of at least the 1/3 of the members of the founders, authoritative body, Scientific Council of the Academy, Council president or the Council.

The Council

  1. Elects the President;
  2. Approvets its regulations;
  3. Works out and approves the procedure of the Rector’s election and conducts the Rector’s election in due order of the Legislature of the Republic of Armenia;
  4. Works out and approves the procedure of election and regulations of the oversight body over the executive body of the Academy (hereafter: Oversight Body), and conducts the election of its members;
  5. Discusses and introduces proposals to the founder on the Charter of the Academy, or on the changes and amendments to the Charter;
  6. Discusses and approves the annual report of the Oversight Body;
  7. In the presence of the Oversight Body discusses the Rector’s annual report on the annual activities of the Academy and approves it;
  8. Discusses and approves the budget of the Academy.
