The North-West Institute of Management Branch of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration once again invited its partner institutions to participate in a round table on “The Practice and Perspectives of Development of Local Self-Government Agencies in Post-Soviet Space”.
PAARA’s Vice-Rector for Supplementary and Continuing Education Mr. Khachatur Bezirjyan, Head of the Quality Assurance Centre Ms. Gayane Hovhannisyan, Head of the Chair on Management Mr. Vilen Khachatryan, and teacher Mr. Edgar Ghazaryan took part in the online meeting held on February 21.
A number of topics related to the public administration in the post-Soviet space were presented to the participants of the round table. The topics were as follows: the institutional grounds of local self-government reforms, the process, achievements, and results of administrative reforms, the problems of the talent pool formation and talent management in local self-government agencies.
Reference was also made to the technologies of the recruitment, selection, and professional adaptation of the local self-government staff, as well as the leadership development and the need to form effective teams in local self-government agencies.
It was noted that each of the post-Soviet countries has developed its own path of local self-government; however, their experience is useful and instructive for others.
