On September 17, Rector of the Public Administration Academy of RA Arsen Lokyan hosted Elinor Bayraqtari – expert evaluating “Training in the field of ecology for representatives of public administration and local self-government bodies, as well as representatives of the private sector of administration of natural resources” program in the framework of “Creation of ecological benefits through ecologic education and awareness of stakeholders” GIZ.
First of all, the guest listened to the opinions about the Program mentioning that in order to carry out accurate evaluation it would be better to get acquainted with the evaluations of partners.
Arsen Lokyan greeted this approach and presented the level of integration of the Academy in the activities of the above-mentioned program. The Program has been evaluated as highly productive by the professorial staff of the Academy, stakeholders and participants. Successful realization of the Program was thanks to the assistance of the partners – Global Ecological Fund (financing), GIZ (co-financing), Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Acopian Center for the Environment of the American University of Armenia (AUA), and Yerevan Municipality. These trainings have been carried out in seven regions and will be regular. 506 community and civil servants, community heads and members of the Council of the Elders have been trained already.
The coordinator of the Program Gayane Hovhannisyan presented the details of the Program. She also highly appreciated the skillful teachers. The surveys among the participants after the end of the trainings depict that this kind of trainings are really required. The participants appreciate the sustainability of the trainings.
The Rector touched upon the modules of the training, and stated that the Academy is willing to participate to other trainings which will endorse more stakeholders.
Bayraqtari had a meeting with training teachers. On the request of the expert the teachers presented the modules they teach, also training expectations, the need of further changes, and capacity of problem solving. Assistant professor at the Chair of Psychology at PAARA Laura Petrosyan underlined that “it is more essential to create ideology and behavior, than to provide information which can have short-term nature”.
