Diplomas Handed to Distance-Learning Master’s Program Graduates

On May 21, diplomas were handed to the graduates of the joint distance-learning MBA program.   The peculiarity of the program is not only its distance format but also the fact that the graduates receive a joint diploma from two universities: the Pubic Administration Academy of the Republic of Armenia and the International Scientific-Educational Center of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia.

Being the first distance-learning Master’s program in our country, it did not pave its way easily. But since there was a demand for the program and its existence was unequivocally justified, it is natural that the efforts made by both the specially-trained teachers and the students, who made a courageous choice, had to be crowned with success.

Congratulating the graduates, Rector of PAARA Mr. Arsen Lokyan noted that  even though the way of realizing the program was not an easy one, its participants had overcome the difficulties, since “they strived for education, development and obtaining a modern profession.”  The Rector particularly emphasized the culture of cooperation of all those who contributed to the realization of the program.

Mr. Arsen Lokyan’s welcome speech to the attendees of the commencement took them four years back.   At the beginning of the program, no one imagined that soon due to the pandemic, even the full-time courses would be held online and in this respect, the experience of PAARA would considerably facilitate the adaptation to the new format of teaching.

Mr. Armen Sargsyan, Director of the International Scientific-Educational Center of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia, also congratulated the graduates on the successful defense of their Master’s theses and commencement. By mentioning that distance learning requires supplementary efforts from students, the Director of the Center wished the graduates to set objectives for themselves at all stages of life by setting high benchmarks and to reach them by no means.

Mrs. Hasmik Stepanyan, Head of the Distance-Learning Department, confessed that it is a pleasure to have the chance to follow the growth and achievements of the students during the learning process by coordinating the Department work.

It should be noted that this year the distance learning joint MBA program had 15 graduates,  two of whom graduated with honors.
