From 2 to 9 of October, Barbara Coe, professor at Maryland University, USA, delivered lectures on “Leadership for Results” at the Public Administration Academy of RA. The participants were the Academy’s students, greatly interested in this topic.
Although the students possessed theoretical knowledge on this subject, professor Coe’s approach was quite different. The lectures comprised interactive workshops, and after the course completion groups, consisting of 4 to 5 students, summed up their newly- gained knowledge with a presentation concerning the obstacles and the ways of overcoming them on the way leading from wish to result.
At the end of the course certificates were handed to the participants. And the President of the Academy A. Lokyan congratulated them on this occasion, saying that he hoped that the certificates would serve for a useful purpose for them.
Mr Lokyan particularly stated: “I am sure that the knowledge you gained during the lectures will be of great use to you in the future. By attending the lectures you had an opportunity to become more competitive for a job recruitment, as nowadays only a diploma of higher education is not enough. Today’s employers are not only interested in your diplomas, but also in your social activities and participations in different programmes. Of course, this is the first step forward for many of you. It would be highly appreciated if you convey your activity to your fellow-students and friends and make them also be eager to gain new knowledge”.
